creative work from high school.

For those people who aren't the biggest Transformers fans this image is of Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. I drew this as a gift for someone over many late nights spent watching the movie. Like probably a lot of people in the course I did not do any "conventional" arty subjects but drew this in my own free time.

great piece of architecture.

This image is of the National Theatre in Okinawa designed by Shin Takamatsu. I believe it is a great piece of architecture because of its unique and individual style. The facade portrays an image of creativity and simplicity whilst also being functional in providing a large amount of lighting for the inside of the structure. It stands out amongst the flat and empty space around it.


something beautiful.

This photograph is of the Leshan Giant Buddha in China. The 71m tall Buddha was carved straight out of the mountain face of Mount Emei. To get an idea of the enormity of the statue, the big toe seen in the bottom left corner of the picture is taller than any person. The coils on its head would be bigger than a person curled up in a ball. I believe this is something beautiful because of the huge amount of devotion and courage it took to create something so breathtaking.
